Terms of use

1. What Nyx is

Nyx changes documented Windows network, scheduler and power settings on your own computer, and measures your connection. It does not modify, inject into, or read the memory of any game. It is a system configuration tool.

2. What we do not promise

We do not promise a specific improvement, or any improvement. Your latency is mostly determined by distance, your ISP and your local link — things no setting on your PC can change. Roughly one run in five sees no measurable difference, and some see a regression. Nyx measures before and after precisely so you can find out which case you are in rather than taking our word for it.

Anyone quoting a fixed percentage improvement for a tool like this is quoting their best outlier. We publish medians and the share of runs that improved at all.

3. Anti-cheat

Nyx does not do anything anti-cheat software is designed to detect: no memory access, no injection, no driver, no modified game files. The settings it changes are the same ones documented by Microsoft and recommended by network adapter vendors.

That said, no anti-cheat vendor publishes a whitelist, and nobody — including us — can guarantee how any third party will treat any software. If a specific game's rules forbid system tuning utilities, that is between you and that game. We are not able to accept liability for a ban.

4. Your responsibility

Nyx requires administrator rights and changes machine-wide settings. It records every change before making it and can undo all of them, and it attempts a Windows restore point first where System Protection is enabled. Even so, you are making changes to your own system, and you should read the warnings on the aggressive and experimental tiers before you enable them — they are there because those tweaks genuinely cost you something.

The software is provided without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

5. Licences

A paid licence is for your personal use on up to the number of machines shown on your plan. You may move it between machines yourself; you may not sell, rent or share it. Sharing a key beyond your own machines is the one thing that will get it revoked, and that revocation is not refundable.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops future charges and the licence keeps working to the end of the period you already paid for.

6. Refunds

Within 14 days of purchase, for any reason, no questions. Ask in Discord or by email. A refund revokes the licence. We would genuinely rather you tried the free tier first — if it does nothing on your connection, the paid tier probably will not either.

7. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to bypass licence checks, redistribute the installer as your own, resell access, or use the API outside the client. Do not use Nyx on a machine you do not administer.

8. Trademarks

Nyx is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Mojang Studios, Microsoft, Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive or the Cfx.re project. Minecraft, FiveM and RedM are the trademarks of their respective owners and are referred to here only to describe what this software is compatible with.

9. Changes

If these terms change in a way that affects you materially, the client will show you a notice. Continuing to use Nyx after that means you accept the change.
