Your result depends on your hardware, your ISP and how your stack was configured to begin with. On a machine that was already well tuned, the honest answer is zero — and Nyx will tell you that rather than show you a number it made up.
How it works
Measure, change, measure again
The order is the product. Anything that skips the first step cannot tell you whether it helped.

Baseline
Forty samples to your game server, discarding the warm-up packets that would otherwise make the "before" look artificially bad. Jitter is measured as the change between consecutive packets — the thing you actually feel.

Apply
Up to 108 individual changes across the TCP and UDP stacks, your adapter's driver settings, the CPU scheduler, power management and background traffic. Every one is recorded before it is made, including the ones where the original value did not exist.

Compare
The same measurement, same target, same sample count. If nothing improved, it says so. If something got worse, it tells you to restore — and the Restore button puts every change back exactly.
What it cannot do
The part nobody else puts on their homepage
If you are going to trust software with your registry, you should know where its limits are before you install it.
It cannot shorten the distance
If the server is 6,000 km away, most of your ping is the speed of light through glass and the routers in between. No registry value changes that. Nyx traces the route and shows you how much of your latency is each hop, so you can see which part is even addressable.
It cannot fix your Wi-Fi
If your first hop — your own router — is adding 25 ms, that is the air between you and it. A cable will do more than every tweak in this app combined, and the route report will say so in those words.
It cannot un-saturate your line
A housemate downloading at full speed fills the modem's upstream queue and adds hundreds of milliseconds. Nyx does stop your own PC from doing that — the biggest single win in the free tier is turning off Windows Update's peer-to-peer upload — but it cannot police the rest of your network.
It is not a magic number
Roughly one run in five sees no measurable change, and some see a regression because a tweak that trades CPU for latency does not pay off on every machine. Those are in the statistics above. Any tool claiming “up to 70% lower ping” is choosing its best outlier and calling it a result.
Safety
Every change is written down before it is made
Not after. Before — so an interrupted run still leaves a snapshot that can undo exactly what landed.
Absent is not zero
When Nyx creates a registry value that did not exist, the undo record says so, and restoring deletes it. Writing a zero instead is how other tools leave a registry full of values Windows never shipped.
Nothing is applied unverified
The tweak catalog is signed with Ed25519 and the client checks the signature before it parses the payload. A hijacked DNS entry or a modified response cannot talk Nyx into writing arbitrary keys.
Restore never needs us
The undo records live on your disk. `nyx restore` works with no internet, no licence check and no running server — including from Safe Mode.
